Research Focus

Diapriidae wasp ♂, Mimopriella spp. emerging from a Trachymyrmex cf. zeteki pupae

Every species on earth has a mutualistic or antagonistic symbiotic relationship shaping its natural history through coevolutionary processes. I explore these evolutionary relationships through host-parasite associations by gathering natural history data and examining it in the context of landscape genetics. My goal is to identify factors that drive distribution and abundance of fungus-growing ant hosts and their parasitoid wasps. I am currently studying two fungus-growing ant species, Trachymyrmex spp., and their horde of undescribed Diapriidae parasitoid wasps.
